Errata No.: 70E-04-1
The Technical Committee on Electrical Safety in the Workplace notes the following errors in the 2004 edition of NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
- 1. In the first sentence of the sixth paragraph of 70E foreword change “sixth” to “seventh”.
2. In 110.8(B) in the first sentence change “120.1, 120,3 and 120.4” to read “120.1, 120.2 and 120.3”.
3. In 120.2 in the first sentence change “120.3” to “Article 120”.
4. In 130.6(A)(2) in the first sentence change the words “parts parts” to “parts”
5. Delete the last sentence in exception 130.7 (c)(14) (a) as follows:
Nonflame-resistant synthetic materials, such as acetate, nylon, polyester, rayon, either alone or in blends with nonflame-resistant cotton, can melt into the skin when exposed to high temperatures and aggravate the burn injury.
6. In 400.15(B) in the first sentence add “or more” after “volts”.
7. In 400.16(C) in the first sentence add “or more” after “volts”.
8. In 400.18(E) (2) in the first sentence add “or more” after “volts”.
9. In 400.21(D) in the second sentence add “or more” after “volts”. In the third sentence add “operating at 50 volts or more” after the word “part”.
10. In B.1.9 in API 2003 change “1991” to “1998”.
11. In B.1.9 delete one of the API RP 505 references.
12. In Table D.2 the last item in column (4) change “5.57” to “5.75”.
13. The formula in D.8.3. The second “=” sign should be changed to a “+” sign. The equation should read as follows: lgEn =k1+k2+1.0811gIa+0.0011G.
14. In Hazard/Risk Evaluation Flowchart in the sixth box from the bottom on the left hand side of the flowchart change “Table 130.2(B)” to “Table 130.2(C)”.
15. In Annex H in the second sentence change “Table 130.7(C)(10)” to “Table 130.7(9)(a)” and “Table 130.7(C)(11)” to “Table 130.7(C)(10)”.
16. In Annex H under the Applicable Tasks column change “Table 130.7(C)(10)” to” Table 130.7(C)(9)(a)” in two locations.
